H Curtis & Sons established a commercial suckler herd over 40 years ago, on the family farm in the Chew Vally.
In 2005, the Pedigree Limousin herd was established with the purchase of 2 females. With the use of Artificial Insemination and some additional purchases, the herd now stands at 50 breeding females.
Over the last 4 years we have been focussing on Polled genetics by the use of Artificial Insemination and the purchase of imported Bulls from France.
The Simmetal herd has been built up over the past 5 years and now stands at 40 breeding females. Polled genetics are used heavily on the Simmental herd from AI and a homozygous Bull bred from the herd.
The Brookhams herd is part of a Hi Health Herdcare scheme, monitoring for BVD, IBR and Johnes disease.
